First Knits
This is another book that was "on the shelf" and so I picked it up. This would be a great book for beginners. It starts out with good explanations, and divides up projects into Knit, Knit & Purl, and Colorwork. The book itself is very well laid out, and easy to read. They did a good job with clear photographs. There are some booties in here made out of two squares that are awfully cute. I like the explainations of the decreases/increases. The top of the pom-pom hat is so clean and nice, it's amazing it's done flat. The lacy shawl is a pretty beginner lace (kidsilk haze looks soft). There is a nice beach bag that unbuttons on the sides to turn into a beach mat - what a cool idea.
