The Dwelling Place
I saw this book on the reshelving cart at the library, and with the Bethany House logo on it, I picked it up to see what it was about because I love their books. I hadn't seen this author's name before.
Nowhere on this book does it say it's a sequel, and I guess it probably could be considered a standalone, but I see now that I look her up that she has one called The Swan House about the mother in this story. I wish I'd read that first!
The story was really good, such a challenge for Ellie to fit in with her mother, but such a tender story, and the illustrations described in the book of the paintings were fabulous. I wish more had been tied together at the end of the book, coming back around to present day like the intro had.
