Another new-to-me-author. Two mothers, in similar situations, but from very different backgrounds. Tragedy strikes for both of them when their sons are in a car accident. The ways they deal with this really make for an interesting book.

Letter Perfect

The first book in the California Historical series (according to Amazon, that's not written on the book). This features Ruth Caldwell, who goes to meet her father and ends up meeting the McCain family, including Josh and Laney. Ruth is not as graceful as her mother would have liked, and her "accidents" get her in trouble often. She's a fun character!

The second in the series. We wonder where Michael is now. Sophie helps out the war effort with her attempts to figure out what's going on. Another interesting look at a war I hadn't heard of.

A Valley of Betrayal

This is the first of the Chronicles of the Spanish Civil War series, and the first and second were on the new book shelf at the main library, so I checked them out. I didn't know anything about the Spanish Civil war, so this was very educational. We meet Sophie, who travels from the US to meet up with her fiance Michael, and there are secrets all around him. Then the war meets up with them, and more characters are introduced. Nice start to a series.

Pacific Hope: A Novel

This was a great book! I took a chance on an unknown author from my favorite publishing house (Bethany) and it ended up being a great mystery/romance. It had a bit of high-tech intrigue, being set in SF. But mostly it was a very believable story about a married couple who maybe wanted to find their way back... a sailboat trip that was just the two of them was a highlight.

Sisterchicks on the Loose! (Sisterchicks Series #1)

First book of the Sisterchicks books. I'm not sure how the other ones will relate, due to the epilogue, I think they'll be standalones. This was fun, watching Sharon come out of her shell and all of the people who they meet on the trip and all of the places they visit.

The Exiles: Chantel

First book in the Creoles Series. This was a cool look at New Orleans, from the authors who wrote the New Orleans portion of the Cheney series. I enjoyed meeting Chantel. The Four Musketeers were fun too, and I look forward to a closer look at each.

Last in this series... with a featured character that's not a brother and the Claxtons are barely mentioned! Ah well, it was a good book, anyhow. I enjoyed him being the savior-type.

A standalone book set in the beginnings of the American Revolution. A Spider Catcher is a type of boat. He's welsh and she's from London and they have a great story.

Halfway to Forever

3rd and final book to the Forever Faithful series. We get to focus on both couples from the previous books this time. There is a lot of health scares along the way which made me gasp. Still a bit of legal case interest, as before. Good book.

The second in this series, and we focus a bit more on Suzanne, the lady of the group who is blind. There are a lot of side stories as well. I'm hoping it will all tie together in the next book (s).

The second book in the glenbrooke series, which I'm finding are mostly standaloners. This one features on Teri Moreno who visits her family in Hawaii and meets up with several men along the way and has to make a choice. For some reason, the Hawaii setting is always a favorite of mine.

Searching for Eternity

Another book by this author, I'm not sure how I feel about her yet. This book was kind of long and I lost interest a bit in the middle, despite it being full of a lot of stories converging. I skimmed towards the end, and it turned out good. I think I just had too many other good books I was waiting to read ahead of it!

2nd book in the Forever Faithful series. Loosly tied to the first one. Another great story from Karen Kingsbury. Meeting this couple and then dealing with the trials of his mom in their life and then re-meeting, wow.
