I'm bittersweet reading this book because it's the 40th and final book of the Winslow series. This book featured Luke Winslow, participating in Spain's Civil War, leading towards WWII. Luke is the son of Peter and Jolie who we met before. This is a good story, even though I had high expectatoion for more of a wrap up than just a small reunion! But I did enjoy how they brought the family together. Goodbye Winslow family, I enjoyed you!

The Widows Choice

This is Winslow #39. I couldn't find Alona on the family tree to see where she fit into the family, and that's the first time that's happened. So I did miss understanding a connection. This book is right before WWII, and people are still feeling a lot of depression era limitations and struggling. Alona's family definitely does especially after loosing her husband. I felt bad for the choice she had to make and wished Oscar had turned out to be nicer.

House of Winslow #38. This featured Tyler Winslow. The weirdest thing about this book is that he never mentions his sister, who the whole last book was about! In all the time with WWII escalating, how was that not mentioned? This book really had an interesting orphan story, trying to get out of France as the war intensifies.

Book 37 in the House of Winslow. We are nearing the end of the series, and I sure wish there were going to be more! This one features Katherine Winslow (Kat), daughter of Lewis and sister to Josh and Hannah and Jennifer, who we've met closely in the past. Kat feels called to do something great with her life, but doesn't know what it is. When she has the opportunity to go to England as a nurse at the beginning of WWII, she takes it. We meet Parker Braden and her friend Brodie, too.

The Unlikely Allies

Book 36 of the Winslow series. This book is early in WWII, with Mallory who has come from the Africa branch of Winslows to go to witness to the Lapps in Norway. The war-based stories are always more scary and I have to read quicker to see what happens!

The next book in the House of Winslow series. This book was a reeducation on the starts of WW2 and Hitler. I was very interested in how Christian Gypsies played into the story. Gabby and her family was a good addition to the winslow story

Book 35 in the Winslow series. We are re-introduced to Phil and Cara, the painters from a few books back, and they find out that the daughter they thought had died was really alive. Interesting way of introducing an outsider into the story that actually was a winslow!

This is the 33rd book in the Winslow series. We go through a lot of Sharon Winslow's life and loves. I was beginning to wonder if she would ever been permanently happy. It also seemed weird that this was so early in the timeline because we'd already been through the late 1920s with another branch of the family. But still, good book.

House of Winslow book 32. Moving on to the story of Travis Winslow who we met in the circus book with his sister Joy (and Chase). He feels a calling, and meets up with Rena Matthews, who is reluctant to involve him in her mission idea. They are stranded on an island, and this turns out to be a great story. This is now one of my favorites of the series!

House of Winslow, #31. This book features Jennifer Winslow, who is Lewis's daughter and Josh's (from 30) sister. She ends up running for sheriff! This was a good one, and a nice quick follow up to 30.

The Beloved Enemy

30th book in the Winslow series. This one took a while to come, we didn't have it in the system and so they supposidly had to reorder it. Oddly enough, it's not a new copy, so that's weird. Anyhow, back to the series, I'm excited because I waited a while between books. We meet Kefira Reis who is a Jewish woman in NY who runs away. And Joshua Winslow who is the son of Lewis that we met in the last book. His dream of being an archeologist is a neato part of the plot.

The Pilgrim Song

Book 29 in the Winslow series. This is set in 1929, and so the story is greatly impacted by the stock market crash. The challenges that this Winslow family faces are greater than a lot of the books. I love the change in how the family treats Clint. I almost wish that the book kept going, I'd like to learn more about them!

Book 27 in the House of Winslow. Picks up right where the last one left of, with the children of Barney Winslow - Amelia and Phillip - who come to New York in the 20s and find careers and meet mobsters and find the Lord too. Good one.

Book 26 in the House of Winslow series. This one is about Erin, the daughter of Barney, who lives in Africa, and learns how to flow. She goes to America and I like how her wounded heart gets healed.

The 25th book of the series. This one featured Emily Winslow and her brothers Jared and Wesley. We also meet "James" and later learn that he has become a Christian and using his real name. Emily and Wesley reluctantly work with James - now Ian - to go through the Amazon and get a story for National Geographic, with Emily writing and Wesley taking pictures. Good installment in the series.

Book 24 of the Winslow series. Long awaited, actually, because there was only one of these books at a non-connected library and none at ours! This was the story of Stuart Winslow, but more about Leah Freeman who was interesting.

Book 23 in the House of Winslow. This wasn't my favorite, but it was okay. Focused on the 1914+ time period in France as the war was starting. Two Winslows in the story - Logan Winslow, the son of Betsy and Lobo, and Lance Winslow, and Englishman who wasn't on the family tree, but was mentioned as a descendant of William Winslow, the son of Miles (William is brother to Adam, who most of the American Winslows are descendants of). They are both pilots.

book #22 in the House of Winslow. This follows several of our family members as they meet, one goes on the Titanic, and then they meet up again in Africa as missionaries. The Titanic part scared me, but made me want to watch the movie again (we only have on it VHS, so we have to watch it upstairs, which is a drawback!) Good book, I am excited how these later books in the series feature such close relatives still.

Next in the Winslow series (#21). This featured a couple of Winslows again - Peter (and Jolie and Easy) from the last one, and then Phil. We met the Laniers, whose lives are now pretty entertwined with the Winslows! I'm interested to see who in the family will be featured next!
