"After more than 20 years as a beloved historical character, this American Girl original will soon say farewell. At that time, Samantha’s collection—including Nellie and her accessories—will be placed into the American Girl Archives so that we may preserve her place in history." I have Samantha but no accessories yet, I always figured I'd have time someday in the future to get some. Sad that they've decided to discontinue/archive her now after 20 years!

I was initially upset, but I do think this is a good move on the AG part - my guess is that they'll pull a Disney, put her back in in about 3 years and then pull another or two. A rotation, basically. Plus that way, we might get other historicals from that approximate time period, which could be very cool.
