george foreman grill

Comments

I had a George Foreman grill a few years ago, and used it all the time. Mostly for veggie burgers and grilled cheese. It was a bit messy (I think I lost the drip pan), but cooked things quickly and was easy to clean up. I only gave it away because I got a real barbeque. (If you're in the market for one of those, I swear by the Webber Baby-Q -- it's small, but has a lot of surface area and cooks incredibly evenly so you can get a lot of food on it at once.)
It's actually rather useful, and makes pretty decent grilled asparagus and I'm sure other veggies as well. Having said that, I haven't used mine in a year.
I have one and use it all the time. I cook all sorts of things on it, from chicken, to veggies, grilled cheeses, etc. Definitely go for the removable plate one. I have used both, and the older versions, where the plates aren't removable, are a pain to clean. The removable plates make cleanup so much easier.
LOL, Patti, sounds like it's time to pull it out again :)

And Amy, good idea with the grilled cheese, I may have to make myself one of those just normal before I get the grill because that sounds so yummy right now :D
We have a Foreman Grill and really like it. I use it mostly for turkey burgers and chicken. I found that I don't like grilling hamburgers or steak on it as much (they seemed too dried out). Whatever you do purchase, I just recommend you get the kind that have removable plates - much easier clean-up.
I agree with everyone about getting one with removable plates. It's a huge difference and makes it much more likely that we use the grill. We use it a lot in the summer especially for grilling veggies and chicken breasts for salads. It's also a much nicer way to prepare whatever veggie burger E might like. I even got Matt to eat one a few weeks ago when I used the grill, and he's definitely not a veggie burger kind of guy. LOL

We actually have the Cuisinart Griddler now instead of the Foreman grill, but I think they're probably all similar.

My hubby does but I have yet to use it. He's pretty into it though.
I really dig mine. I'm not much of a cooker so it's really nice for someone as unskilled as me to be able to bust out perfectly cooked and tender chicken breasts every time. +1 on the removable plates
