QotD: Something to Believe In
Do you have any tattoos? If not, if you were going to get inked, what would you get?
I don't have a tattoo. But I almost gone one the second time I was in New York City. If one of my friends had gotten one, I probably would have too, but we ended up not going.
I have known since before then what I would get though. on my upper left shoulder, where my bra strap hits the middle of my back, I would get a small butterfly. Small as in less-than-a-dime size.
I planned to draw it myself, pretty simple but with sort of gradienty colors, more yellow and green on top and purple and blue on the bottom with pink ends.
Just for fun, I drew it out on a scrap of paper and took a picture with my camera phone. And took out my crayons to color it while I was at it (i'm such a geek).
I seriously can't believe that I would have thought of that when I was like 22 and still think that was the perfect thing for me, but I *am* a butterfly person, and I do love the colors and the simple shape. And when I think about it, I can still point to the exact spot on my back where I'd get it.
The second idea is always a daisy, simple, probably just an outline with no color. I am always doodling daisies, so that makes sense too. Maybe on my ankle.
At this point in my life, I don't really need a tattoo. I'm pretty content without one, in fact. But the fantasy in me says "you should do this some day". :)
p.s. i'm not sure why the title is something to believe in, I guess i'm a little slow!
