tivo, unbox, and nbc premieres

Okay, tonight my TiVo told me that I should get a free download of 4 season premieres for new fall tv shows. That's 2 weeks early. I don't understand why they would want me to watch it now, commercial free, rather than be someone on premiere night tuning into their shows with commercials and to keep me from watching something else at that time slot?

I guess it could be to get me to try out unbox, I did have to set it up, but it wasn't a big problem to do that.

So if you want to see Chuck, Bionic Woman, Journeyman or Life, you could do it now. I've got Chuck downloading, and I'll probably do the same with BW because both of these are during other shows I want to watch. JM isn't on at the same time as anything else, so I may just wait and see it on premiere night.

I just saw this tonight. I'm setting up unbox as I type. ;-)

Oh, nifty! I set it up and am downloading two of the freebies, "Chuck" and "Journyman." I've already seen the "Bionic Woman" one (wasn't impressed :/) and I wasn't interested in "Life."

I doubt I'll ever buy anything from them, but the freebies are nice.

Wow...maybe I'll have a look. I only care if they have Heroes. Hrrmmm...is that on NBC? I can't remember. Tivo has me spoiled, not caring about what channel something's on. Hehe.

It is actually a pretty savvy move on their part as far as marketing goes; they know that they will miss out on some people due to conflicts with other shows, but this way they hope to convert you.

And you know how I looooooove my Tivo!

What Christine said, and also because they hope that you'll like the shows so much, you'll tell all your friends and get them to watch. In my case, I saw Chuck and Bionic Woman about a month ago and liked Chuck so much I'll be watching it again live. (Well, as live as I watch TV -- I TiVo and then fast-forward the commercials.)

I need to set up up Unbox, but I'm still connected through a phone line so I need to get a longer USB cable.

I watched Studio60 several weeks early last year (through Netflix) and fell wildly in love. I imagine they want this to happen to other shows, too. Only more successfully. *g*

Let me know what you think of Chuck. I only saw the premise last night and am curious.
