wga strike

Actually, I've heard the midseasons are in a lot better shape. Lost, for example has 13 episodes already, which aren't slated to start airing till February. So even airing back-to-back, no repeats, that's three months' worth of programming that doesn't even start for another three months...I would imagine a deal will be made within six months. Hopefully, anyway.
Oh, good, I'm glad to hear that stat on Lost. I'd read Lost had 8 of the 16 planned episodes at some point over the weekend, but hopefully 13 is more accurate :) But there is still the worry that if they don't have the scripts for the last 3 eps, they won't want to start playing the beginning of them in february if the strike is still going.

One site I read this morning did quote an exec saying that he didn't think that this would go any less than the 1988 strike, and that worries me of course! Let's hope he's being pessimestic. I think that it's really just going to depend how long this goes on to know how big of an impact it'll be, blech...

Thank you so, so, so much for breaking the WGA strike down for me. I would have had to do a lot of searching if I hadn't caught this post. My sister mentioned the strike to me last night and I was completely caught off guard. I wasn't sure whether reality TV or expanded to other types of media as well.

The entire idea of so many writers from all over the TV world are striking together amazes me. I really hope this gets resolved soon though. I don't like the idea of sidetracking from the set plans for a series I watch and get stuck watching a bunch of "filler" instead. The idea frustrates me.

Everybody wants more money! And they have the right!
